Description

Station Manager Overview

The Station Manager is a built-in function of an Ethernet interface. The Station Manager function can be used to monitor the Ethernet interface itself and check its operation on the network. If a problem occurs, the Station Manager may be used to pinpoint the source.

Resolution

The attached utility supports Ethernet (see important note below) or serial connections to the interface (using a standard straight-through nine-pin RS-232 serial cable).

Important Note for PACSystems v6.13 and later Ethernet Firmware for:

RX3i IC695ETM001-EN and later.

RX7i IC698ETM001-ET and later

RX7i CPU embedded Ethernet v6.13 and later.

It is recommended that the user change the station manager password to a password other than the default password. Access to Remote Station Manager will be disabled when the station manager password is set to the default password.

If the password has not been changed, serial connection to the 9pin station mgr port on the Ethernet interface module is permitted.
