How to Change the Retentive Property of UDT Variable

Description

A UDT is a structured data type consisting of elements of selected data types. The retentive property is editable only for Boolean element and only if the UDT memory type is discrete. The default settings of the Retentive property of Boolean element is true. However, changing the state of the Retentive check box does not affect existing variables of this UDT type. If there are plenty of UDT elements, how to find a quick way to change the retentive property of UDT variable?

Resolution

If uncheck the Retentive property of Bool element in UDT editor, the retentive property of UDT type still remains ture, which is not changed accordingly.

If there are plenty of UDT elements, it will take many time to change the retentive property of UDT type variables one by one in variable list. The easiest way to change the retentive property is to export the variable list, change the retentive property in .CSV file, and then import it to the variable list.
