SIM installations for PAC8000 Workbench are a little different from other Emerson products as the SIM is not a stand-along executable that can be launched and installed. In order to install a SIM for PAC8000 Workbench, you must download the SIM and install it using the PAC8000 Workbench updater utility. The following instructions will guide you through the proper method of installing a SIM for PAC8000 Workbench.

1. Download the SIM file and copy to the Program Files(x86)\Proficy\8000\Control Center\Temp directory.
2. Launch the Workbench Updater utility (WorkbenchUpdate.exe) from the Program Files(x86)\Proficy\8000\Control Center\Utilities\WBupdate\ directory.
3. From the File pull down menu select the "Select SIM" menu item.
4. Select the SIM. The installation will proceed automatically from this point and the Workbench Updater utility will apply the changes found in the SIM. You may be prompted to connect (login) to the PAC8000 Workbench database. If prompted, login with the Workbench user name and password.
Following the update, you can elect to view the changes made for this update. Note that they can be viewed at any time by launching the Workbench Updater utility and selecting the ‘Show update history’ option.
