Description

When a project is being developed or it is needed to document it, to have a summary of the addresses in the Hardware Configuration can be very helpful.

Resolution

In order to get a summary of the allocated areas by the Hardware Configuration,

  • Select Hardware Configuration in your target
  • Click on the right button, and select “Hardware Reference View”

A new tab called “Hardware Reference View” will be opened. In that tab, there are several tabs which allow to view the information regarding each of the memory areas of the target. The information includes not only the memory areas in the hardware Configuration but also the EGD exchanges (Consumed and Produced)

Start: The starting reference address mapping for the module. The lower limit for a starting reference address is 1.

End: The ending reference address mapping for the module. The upper limit for an ending reference address for a specific memory area is indicated by the Limit at the bottom of the Hardware Reference View window.

Location: The location in the Hardware Configuration where the item in the Catalog # column is located.

Type: The memory type. Possible values:
For data that is input to modules: Consumed.
For data that is output from modules: Produced.
For EGD exchanges: Consumed or Produced.

Catalog #: For a hardware module, the catalog number and for an EGD exchange, "EGD".
