Description
“Microsoft Web Browser” ActiveX Control is obsolete; the user cannot to set the URL when selecting the Microsoft Web Browser ActiveX control in the toolbox. If the “Microsoft Web Browser” ActiveX control object is added to the graphical panel of the Windows PC target, a dialogue message pops up when the user edits the URL. The popup dialog will display: Object is obsolete. Not possible to set the URL. Instead use VLC control object.
Resolution
This condition applies to PME/PPS 10.3 and all prior versions.
The following steps demonstrate the issue:
1. Launch PME.
2. Create Windows PC View Target.
3. Drag Microsoft Web Browser from View ActiveX objects from Toolchest to the panel.

3. Drag Microsoft Web Browser from View ActiveX objects from Toolchest to the panel.
4. Click the ellipse button in Edit Properties in Inspector window, the error message window will show up as shown below.
Starting with PME/PPS Version 10.4, we have corrected the message to reflect there is no VLC ActiveX control object with the name VLC control so, the new message will be "Object is obsolete. Not possible to set the URL.” as shown below.
